I recently saw a vintage Chinese Restaurant Menu from the 1950’s from a restaurant named Soo San. The image on the menu was that of a round coin with a square hole in the center, the coin itself being the Soo San. This 13th century legend says that the coin was originally minted to bring luck in the form of food and shelter to the anyone who possessed it. My thoughts, of course, immediately drifted to the Quick-Seat Chair, which although it doesn’t guarantee food, it most certainly offers shelter in the form of safe seating right where and when you need it the most, and that is certainly lucky. I remembered all of the times that I have waited for my Chinese take-away dinner where there was no place to sit for 20 minutes and how nice it would have been if there was a Quick-Seat Chair there just waiting for me. At the end of a long day, even the most fit of us would rather sit than stand to wait for our dinner, and that special Chinese Fortune Cookie.
Evidently the Soo San is one of what are known as the Five Lucky Coins for best luck. They are, a US Silver Dollar; a 5 Yen Japanese coin, a silver 6 Pence from Great Britain, a leap year Mercury dime, and the Soo San. None of the other coins have anything to do with shelter or comfort, however, so I’ll stake my claim with the Soo San and the Quick-Seat Chair, Temporary Seating That Closes Itself. These two would bring tremendous good luck to any establishment where Quick-Seat was made available when patrons must wait to sit down to eat because regular seating has been exhausted. A Quick-Seat Chair, Chinese dinner, a Soo San, and a Fortune Cookie…Can you please pass the Soy Sauce?
The Quick-Seat Chair can be floor or wall mounted, will fit almost anywhere with its thin compact space saving design with only a 3 3/4” footprint out from the wall, and its easy fit for under hand railings, there is virtually no end to where a Quick-Seat Chair could be of benefit. I opened a Fortune Cookie recently and it said “A sure cure for seasickness is to sit under a tree.” Got that right, especially if we’re sitting on a Quick-Seat Chair. Contact Us Today!
